This piece of furniture was designed by Binom Architects for a private client. It serves as the reception desk in their grade 2 listed Georgian townhouse office in Mayfair. Undertaken for manufacture by Roy Middleton Interiors, Symmetry Studios were asked to collaborate on all aspects of the manufacturing process starting with initial client consultations, followed up by producing a fully detailed technical design package and then finally being fully involved with the construction & installation. The desk features swing-out drawers and walnut veneer with inlaid maple detailing. Great care was taken to achieve grain continuity throughout the veneered surfaces. Specially engineered bearing blocks were machined to hinge the swing-out drawers and had adjustability built-in for drawer alignment.
